Omega-3 (EPA and DHA): eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs) having structural and cell functions, which the human body is able to produce only in very small amounts, varying on age, sex, state of health and diet. If taken in the natural form of triglycerides, they are more bio-available compared to the ethylic esters in synthetic form and minor quantities are required to obtain the same benefits. Probably, this is due to the fact that the fats digestive enzyme (lipase) is better able to split the bond of fatty acids in triglyceride form.
As recognized by European Health experts (EFSA) it is important to note that a daily intake of 250 mg/day of EPA and DHA is sufficient for the maintenance of normal functioning of the cardiovascular system.
Grape: is an extract from the grape skin of Vitis vinifera standardised to Procyanidolic Oligomers (PCOs) and Resveratrol. PCOs are compounds known since ancient times for their biological properties; Resveratrol is a phyto-alexin (polyphenol family), a substance naturally produced by many plants useful in the defense against the external environment and is a father molecule of the polymer family, so-called Viniferins.
Vitamin K2: Menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is a Vitamin K form which differs from Phylloquinone (Vitamin K1) for its chemical structure, other than being absorbed in minor amounts in a normal diet. Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin which helps blood clotting.
Vitamins B6, B12 and Folic Acid: the complex of these vitamins helps maintain normal homocysteine levels in the blood.
